Hi Luzi,

I had never heard of Cybernetics Management. After looking it up, I'm actually confused. It sounds like complex scientific management. While I like systems-thinking, the modeling shouldn't be complex. With subjective meta-models we can only practically think so long before it becomes impractical theory. Any beneficial model has to enable us to craft strategy and its underlying tactics.

For this reason, I like to learn about tool and techniques from organizational behavior and operations management. But the funny thing is that while these might seem great to have as a toolkit, effective implementation is SO difficult, because nobody likes change. Hence the need for exceptional communication and leadership in times of necessary change.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Yes, there are!

Such a compelling question screams for this answer: Stafford Beer!

I had written a little book review on Stafford's "bible" (The Heart of Enterprise) in 2002: http://kugelfisch.schucan.com/index.jsp%3Fsub=text&bod=text%252Fbeer.html

I'd love to discuss his approaches with anyone!

good luck, Mario.
