My Reading List – Spring 08

spring 2008 reading list books

Here is a look at my current reading list over the next few months. Not quite all the books, but most.

One of the best aspects of reading business, design, and communication books is all the advanced material so well explained and enlightening, that one just cannot meaningfully retain from magazines (as opposed to Journals). To learn the subjects even better, take notes and write yourself summaries that add personal relevance, related topics, and other contextual detail. The last thing you can do, is try to teach others what you learned - the passion will flow because at this point, you’ll understand the material so well and the story will be yours.

Hey Mario - Check out shelfari and goodreads when you get a chance. Lots of sharing opportunities there.

Awesome - I have 8 points on Bookmooch and many books on wishlist; but none are available. Ah well, because I have soooo much to read & take notes on anyway.
Perhaps I can find “The Fountainhead” or Sir Richard Burton’s translation of “Arabian Nights”.

Anything that enhances a home based entrepreneur efforts gets my approval. Taking charge of one’s life improves ones outlook in their life, while encouraging others to try harder as well. Good work and keep the faith.

Mario:

Nice list. I’d recommend one more, which just came out in June: The Race Between Education and Technology, by Claudia Goldin and Lawrence Katz.

Also, thanks for your comment on my post about Zakaria’s book.

Thanks John, I’ll have to check that out.
